Walking Together for Pinktober

With the Reddy Foundation, the charitable arm of Reddy Group, Tanoa Hotel Group donated $10,000 FJD to the Fiji Cancer Society in support of this year’s Pinktober Walk.

This year’s theme, “Awareness into Action,” came to life on Wednesday, 1 October, as staff, local community members, and supporters gathered for the Pinktober Walk at My Suva Park. The event not only raised awareness about cancer but also highlighted the importance of preserving Fiji’s natural beauty, bringing together health advocacy, sustainability, and community spirit.

Speaking at the event, Tanoa Hotel Group’s Area General Manager for Fiji, Mr. Narend Kumar, reflected on the power of collective effort;

“At Tanoa, we believe that small actions can create big change. By supporting the Fiji Cancer Society, we hope to ease the journey of those facing cancer and strengthen the network of care available to our communities. The Pinktober Walk reminds us that together, we can turn awareness into meaningful action. It’s about standing with those affected, inspiring hope, and encouraging everyone to prioritise health and early detection.”

The day was also a moment of reflection on the legacy of Mr. Y.P. Reddy, whose vision for community empowerment continues to inspire the Reddy Foundation’s work. Company Director Ms. Kamini Reddy shared;

“This year’s theme reflects the Group’s ongoing dedication to transforming awareness into action, carrying forward the vision of my late father, Mr. Y.P. Reddy. His legacy of community empowerment continues to guide the company’s efforts in creating meaningful change in the communities we serve under the Reddy Foundation Programme.”

The Pinktober Walk not only raised vital funds but also strengthened solidarity, reminding everyone of the importance of early detection, ongoing support, and the power of community.
