– The Tanoa Way
– The Tanoa Way
Founded in Fiji in 1957 by Yanktesh Permal Reddy, known to all as YP Reddy, Tanoa Hotels was born from a belief that genuine hospitality is indistinguishable from genuine care. As an Indian-Fijian entrepreneur and champion of local communities, YP Reddy created Fiji’s first locally owned tourist hotel near Nadi, opening his doors to domestic travellers and international visitors alike at a time when Pacific-owned hotels simply didn’t exist. Tanoa Hotel Group changed that.
Today, that founding spirit lives across eight hotels in three Pacific nations — Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga — run by the Reddy family and trusted by business travellers, families, and explorers for over 65 years.
The tanoa bowl is a Pacific symbol of coming together — of sharing, belonging, and welcoming strangers as family. It is not just our name. It is how we work, how we host, and how we have built every one of our properties since 1957. That is the Tanoa Way. It always has been.
Our Values
Sincerity, care, and innovation, these are not aspirations at Tanoa Hotels, they are the daily standard every member of our team is held to, from our executive leadership to our heart-of-house staff. We are mindful of our community and environment because our business is built that way, and because the Pacific communities we operate within deserve nothing less.
Tanoa Hotel Group is part of the Reddy Group, one of the Pacific’s most established and respected family businesses, founded in Fiji in 1947. What began as a small construction company in Suva grew, through decades of ambition and integrity, into a globally diversified family business with investments spanning tourism, hospitality, and beyond.
Today, Reddy Group is led by Rohit and Kamini Reddy, children of the late YP Reddy (CF, OBE), whose vision created Tanoa Hotels and whose legacy of community, generosity and Pacific pride lives on in everything the group does. The Reddy Foundation, established to support education, health, and poverty relief across the Pacific, is a direct expression of that legacy.
