Christmas Lights at Tanoa Waterfront

Tanoa Waterfront Hotel kicked off the festive season on 5 December with a Christmas Tree Lighting that looked a little different this year in the best way. Instead of the usual pine, guests were greeted by a striking tree built entirely from coconut husk, a material rooted in Fiji’s landscape and culture.

The design wasn’t just for show. It was a deliberate nod to sustainability and the hotel’s ongoing commitment to rethinking how natural materials can be used in creative, responsible ways. The result was a piece that felt both festive and thoughtful. A tree with real texture, character, and a story behind it.

As the lights came on and the evening began, the tree stood as a reminder of what the season can represent at Tanoa Waterfront: community, ingenuity, and a grounded respect for the environment that surrounds us.

A simple idea, executed beautifully and the perfect way to welcome Christmas.
