An Afternoon with the Sugar Festival Queens

We loved welcoming the Sugar Festival Queens to Tanoa Waterfront Hotel for lunch back in November, as part of this year’s Sugar Festival celebrations.

It was a relaxed afternoon and a chance to acknowledge the cultural importance of the Sugar Festival and the people who help bring it to life each year.

After lunch, the Queens joined our team in the gardens to plant banana trees. A simple act but one that reflects something important to us: caring for our environment and giving back in small, practical ways.

Hotel Manager Ms. Vularewa Seru said the visit was a meaningful one for the team.

“It was a pleasure to host the Sugar Festival Queens and spend time together doing something positive for our environment. These moments of connection really matter to us.”

The afternoon was filled with good company, good energy and a shared commitment to looking after the place we call home.
