The Y.P. Reddy Hospitality Championship

Tanoa Hotel Group has proudly brought back one of its most treasured traditions, the Tanoa Hospitality Games and reintroduced the event as the Y.P. Reddy Hospitality Championship. The renaming honours the late Mr Y.P. Reddy, whose vision, leadership, and dedication to developing local talent helped shape the standard of hospitality in Fiji and across the region. A true industry pioneer, Mr. Reddy built the foundations on which Tanoa continues to grow today.

“With the last event held before the pandemic, we were excited to revive the championship especially with so many new team members joining us,”

said Mr Narend Kumar, Area General Manager, Fiji.

“It’s a great opportunity to uncover fresh talent and reconnect as a team. This championship celebrates teamwork, creativity, and the passion that drives our hospitality family every day.”

Director of Tanoa Hotel Group, Ms Kamini Reddy, shared the significance of the new name.

“The late Mr Y.P. Reddy believed deeply in growing from within and investing in our people. Renaming the event in his honour reflects that legacy. At Tanoa, our people will always come first.”

The championship delivered a lively day of competition and camaraderie, with teams showcasing their skills through bed-making challenges, floral arrangements, live culinary displays, cocktail mixology, innovation tests, excellence-in-service awards, and more.

Team Tanoa Rakiraki took home the overall championship title, with Team Tanoa Waterfront finishing as runners-up.

The return of the event was met with huge pride across the Fiji-based Tanoa team, who celebrated not only a cherished tradition but also the warmth, spirit, and hospitality values that Mr Y.P. Reddy championed throughout his life.
